who is han?
My name is Hannah, Han for short. I break glass and then make art out of it! I take inspiration from our beautiful world: mostly from nature and often plants and animals. I've always been a creative girly - growing up, my favorite part of summer break was not the school year ending, but the trip I'd get to take to the craft store with my mom to pick out a new craft to try. Almost 20 years later, one has finally stuck.
I became enamored with glass art when I followed some incredible glass artists on Instagram. I had a feeling I'd fall in love as soon as I had the chance to try it, but the list of tools and materials required to start this little hobby isn't exactly short nor cheap, so I signed up for a class at my local glass shop. Spoiler alert: that feeling I had was right. And I have my mom to thank here: for encouraging my many creative outlets growing up and for helping me get my baby studio (the second bedroom in my apartment) up and running with the right tools, equipment, and starting supplies! And I've been kicking glass ever since ;)
It didn't take long for me to realize I could share my art with other people. When one of my best friends asked me to make something for her sister's birthday, I was ecstatic to learn that someone not only liked my art enough to want a piece, but enough to confidently give it to someone else?!! And then when friends of friends - people I didn't know (!) - asked me to make pieces for them, I (pinched myself and then) decided this was going to be a real thing I did. Maybe not a capital-B Business, but more than a hobby I keep to myself.
